South Downs Nurseries and Garden Centre, is a huge garden centre alongside the South Downs Heritage Centre. Our plant area is one of the largest in Sussex and is supported by a dedicated team of plant experts. Here you will find a large choice of indoor and outdoor living and gift ranges to inspire you.

In addition the Heritage Centre is home to a collection of historical garden machinery, a very spacious cafe with garden and small play areas and the Sussex Food Hall which showcases some of the best local produce. It hosts exhibitions, talks and workshops across a huge variety of creative disciplines.

The nursery boasts a huge cafe with lots of space for pushchairs and wheelchairs and a fantastic range of hot and cold food, with a number of choices for people with dietary requirements such as delicious fresh vegan and gluten free cakes.

Children will love exploring the plant area with plenty of sheds to hide in! Theres also a large pets corner (which features rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, birds, reptiles and lots of fish). Theres a small indoor and outdoor play area by the cafe, and lots of space to explore both outdoor and outdoor undercover (for the rainier days!).

Set in a stunning Sussex style oak framed barn, The Barn Coffee Shop and Restaurant offers a unique dining experience. You will find a varied menu with a focus on creating fresh produce, cooked to order. Our breakfasts cater for every taste with a wide selection of traditional dishes.

Afternoon tea is also available with delicious scones baked fresh every day along with a lovely selection of cakes and tray bakes.

Our baristas serve a specialist range of quality coffees and delicious frappes and smoothies which are hard to resist.
