The Drusilla Duffill Theatre School offers a fantastic dance education to all pupils providing a disciplined approach to physical exercise, a chance for young people to express themselves creatively and an avenue for children to explore and contemplate a future in dance. The School has developed a strong reputation in the dance world and has become a renowned place of learning for dance students in Mid Sussex currently teaching ballet, tap, modern, Acrobatic Arts, Pilates, jazz and performance classes to students of all ages.

At the Drusilla Duffill Theatre School we are dedicated to providing a thorough grounding in dance technique within safe dance practise guidelines and with particular attention to detail for the health of the young developing bodies. All our teachers are highly experienced, fully qualified and DBS checked. The children and students develop the skill and understanding at the same time building a sound, safe technique developing the physical ability to communicate through movement in an expressive and artistic way. Classes study the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and at Vocational Student Level in the Royal Academy of Dance Examinations which build up gradually ensuring that steps learned at lower levels prepare for more complex movements. Thus providing them with the skill and qualifications required for a career in dance, if they wish.

In addition it has been a focal point for long and enduring friendships. Our aim is to provide a well structured curriculum within a caring atmosphere where young children and students can develop their love of dance and theatre, whether for enjoyment or as the basis for a professional career. Encourage self-confidence, self-expression, and social skills that help develop and inspire your child’s musicality and imagination.
